高校の時,そねはらさんはたくさん友だちがあったから,たのしかったと言っていました。高校は８：４５にはじまって、４：００におわりだと言っていました。そねはらさんは、たくさんじかんから、べんきょうするのがきらいだと言っていました。しけんとしゅくだいはやさしかったと言っていました。そねはらさんのアルバイトはやさしかったと言っていました。しゅうまつはたくさんsoccerをしたと言っていました。
I think that there are many similarities between students in Japan and those in America. It seems as though many students don’t like to do homework, and whether or not you enjoyed high school seems to depend on how many friends you had. It does seem like high school is taken more seriously in Japan. I have never heard of taking a test to get into a public high school until I learned more about Japanese culture.
Yes, Japan is a society which sets a greater value on the academic career of an individual than on his/her real ability. Since high shcool is not a compulsory education, regardless you want to go to public or private high school, you need to pass the high school entrance exam!
