Lesson 10 Interview

さとみさんはカリフオリニア にかぞくにあいに行くつもりです。日本人のおせちを食べておとしだまがあると言っています。さとみさんはアメリカのおんがくのほうが日本のよりがすきと言っています。さとみさんは日本のかしゅの中で　こぶくろ　がいちばんじょうずだと思います。

Japanese New Years reminds me of an American Thanksgiving.  People get together with their family or friends and prepare a special dinner called osechi.  I thought that was like the turkey that Americans make.  One difference I found is that some Japanese children get otoshidama which is a small envelope.  The kids can then take this envelope around and collect money from their family.

高校の時,そねはらさんはたくさん友だちがあったから,たのしかったと言っていました。高校は８：４５にはじまって、４：００におわりだと言っていました。そねはらさんは、たくさんじかんから、べんきょうするのがきらいだと言っていました。しけんとしゅくだいはやさしかったと言っていました。そねはらさんのアルバイトはやさしかったと言っていました。しゅうまつはたくさんsoccerをしたと言っていました。

I think that there are many similarities between students in Japan and those in America.  It seems as though many students don’t like to do homework, and whether or not you enjoyed high school seems to depend on how many friends you had.  It does seem like high school is taken more seriously in Japan.  I have never heard of taking a test to get into a public high school until I learned more about Japanese culture.

My Opinion

日本語のクラスが大すきです。日本語のクラスはとてもたのしくてちょっとむずかしくてと思いです。せんせいとしょうこさんはとてもしんせつです。かんじがすきでもちょっとむずかしいです。かたかなはまぎらわしいです。

ウイスコンシン大学River Fallsがすきです。大学River Fallsはちょっと小さくてきれいでたのしいです。大学River Fallsはよくてと思いです。

Japanese Valentine's Day

I really like the idea of Valentine's Day in Japan, especially since it is balanced by White Day in the following month.  It also seems like Valentine's Day in Japan is more about celebrating love than it is in the United States.  In the United States is seems like you give a gift to those that you care about, like friends and family.

I don't think that the Japanese are being manipulated.  It is interesting though, because this argument could be made against any country's holiday, in which gift giving is a focus.  I think that it is great to have a day were people celebrate their love of people and life.

As a male, I would most likely participate in White Day, and get gifts for those whom I care about.  I feel like I would still feel compelled to give some very close people a gift on Valentine's Day to celebrate my own cultural heritage.

ロンドンはとてもとのしかったです。私はげき(play)を見ました。Spamalotはとてもおもしろかったです。私はぼうしをかました。ぼうしはたかくありませんでした。

イタリアのローマに行きました。ローマはとてもけれいでした。コロシアに行きました。コロシアはとてもおもしるかったです。私はバスにのりました。天気はちょっとあつかったです。ローマはとてもにぎやかでした。イタリアのたべものがだいすきです。
